Used clothing can be returned, so that the clothing can be used for new circular corporate clothing

RETURN LOGISTICS

In order to be circular, it is of course a must to keep the chain closed. It is therefore very important to take back the delivered products after use. Schijvens Corporate Fashion organizes this ‘return logistics’ in an innovative manner, together with its partners PostNL and Dobbi.

Used clothing can be collected at the location and is then returned to Schijvens so that this clothing can be used for new circular corporate clothing. This circular workwear is made from 50% recycled clothing mixed with 50% recycled polyester (from old clothes, PET bottles and ocean plastic). Of course we would like to receive your used company clothing back, so that we can make new clothing from it.

Your old company clothing as a raw material for new clothing saves pollution and waste: about 96% water consumption, 36% energy consumption and 20% CO2 emissions. Working with a good feeling is also in the clothes you wear!

R-ladder

Schijvens Corporate Fashion collects used clothing. We do NOT do this to reuse or recycle the clothing as a low-quality product, but to bring it  back into the chain as a high-quality product. The R-ladder, which is also used by the government, has been used as a guideline for this.

The customer collects the clothes in boxes or roll containers, depending on the site size. The customer can then easily submit a collection order via the Schijvens portal. The clothing is then collected by PostNL and, depending on the R-choice, brought to Dobbi (for cleaning) or brought to Schijvens (for repair, restock or recycling).

Recycling

Schijvens collects the used clothing, which is completely used up and can be recycled, in its own distribution center in Bladel. There the clothing is sorted, counted, verbalized and registered. The bales of clothing are transported by sea to the recycling plant in Turkey, where they are shredded and fiberized. These textile fibers are mixed with fibers from recycled polyester to make the yarn strong enough again. New yarns are then spun from this, which we use to knit and weave cloths and then make corporate clothing.

HOW DO YOU GET THOSE CLOTHES PAST TURKISH CUSTOMS?

Wij hebben samen met onze recyclepartner een machine ontworpen en gebouwd die de kleding via een lopende band met een mes bewerkt en vervolgens perst tot een baal. Op die manier voldoen wij aan de Turkse regelgeving voor import. Aan de andere kant heeft onze recyclepartner een speciale vergunning waarmee zij toestemming hebben om onze kleding te importeren. Zodoende hebben wij al meer dan 200.000 kilogram aan afgedragen kleding naar de recyclefabriek vervoerd.aTogether with our recycling partner, we designed and built a machine that processes the clothing with a knife via a conveyor belt and then presses it into a bale. In this way we comply with Turkish regulations for import. On the other hand, our recycling partner has a special permit that gives them permission to import our clothes. As a result, we have already transported more than 200,000 kilograms  of used clothing to the recycling plant.

WHO MAY USE THIS RETURN PROCESS?

Until now, Schijvens only offered this to its own circular customers. This is to keep its own chain closed and to continuously optimize the return process. We have now reached the point where we are stable in the return process and can therefore handle more. We believe it is important to include the fashion industry in developments that are important for the circular economy. That is why you can also use our return logistics! Contact us for more information.

STOCK

Because there is sometimes also stock in the non-recycled clothing, it can now temporarily happen that employees in the old clothing work together with employees in the new clothing. This is a temporary situation that we have to go through. Immediately throwing away the old clothing while it has not yet been worn is not sustainable at all. So we take off the clothes, we use up the old stock and let the new stock flow in. We ask for your understanding for this temporary situation, for a better environment!

ADDITIONAL DEALER INFORMATION

When you, as a T’riffic dealer, transfer a customer to the return logistics system, you must report this to sales@platens.nl, stating the customer’s address. In this way, Schijvens can measure what has returned from this customer (if the customer is not known to Schijvens, Schijvens cannot see from whom the return flow comes, since the address does not refer to a specific customer in the Postnl application).

REQUIREMENTS

  • When the customer is going to return clothing, it is the intention that the customer will buy back similar items from the T’riffic collection
  • In that case, the customer may return clothing from other brands.
  • The dealer informs sales@platens.nl which customer will use the return system
  • The customer is not allowed to return shoes, PPE or private clothing
  • The clothes must be delivered washed
