Wat is Fair Wear Foundation?
Schijvens Corporate Fashion is a member of the Fair Wear Foundation. FWF is an independent organization that monitors the working conditions of factory workers in garment factories and strives to continuously improve them. All factories where Schijvens Corporate Fashion produces its clothing (including T’riffic) are under supervision.
Schijvens Corporate Fashion is annually assessed by the Fair Wear Foundation on its performance with regard to social working conditions in the clothing factories with which Schijvens Corporate Fashion works. The results can be read in our Brand Performance Check. The brand performance checks of all affiliated brands can be found publicly on fairwear.org.
This year we again achieved a score of 97 out of 100 points, which we are very proud of! With this we maintain our status as leader, the highest achievable category within FWF.
In the clothing industry, workers are usually paid below the living wage, which is not sufficient for basic needs. In order to still earn enough, people often work overtime. And too low a salary can even encourage child labour. At Schijvens Corporate Fashion we believe that the basic salary should be sufficient to earn a living. Schijvens Corporate Fashion always investigates whether the cost price is sufficient to pay a living wage. If so, we will check with FWF whether the factory actually pays a living wage to the employees. If not, we will increase the cost in such a way that a living wage can be paid.
